Groupon.com
- daily deals on local services
If you haven't heard of Groupon, it's a very useful website to try services in your area.
There is only one deal per city daily (51 US cities available today, and London), and each deal usually expires at 11:59pm local time.
Their deals are really good on most days, can only be found on their website, and could be a good way to try new stores and services in your area.
For example, some cities recently offered 10 90-Minute Yoga Sessions for $24, and 2 months of workouts at a Crossfit Studio for $29.
Here's how it works:
Buy the certificate.
You are refunded if too few people buy into the deal, but usually they get more than enough buyers each day.
Wait 1 day to receive the certificate by email, and remember to redeem your certificate before its expiration date.
For deals which have a timeframe (ie, you get 1 month of workouts), you probably need to call them to set up your first appointment so they know when to expire your certificate.
Many deals can be redeemed within months or even a year after buying, so you don't have to do the deal right away.
For example, if a deal is $25 for an oil change and interior car cleaning, buy it now and use it when your car needs a cleaning (but before the expiration date).

Godaddy.com
- Coupons and Promotions (repost)
For registering new domains:
Code 749aprmo for $7.67/yr for new & renewal of .com, .net, .org domains.
It normally costs $10.70/yr for .com and $15/yr for .org.
For renewing domains already registered through Godaddy:
Code gdbb776 for $7.67/yr for renewal of .com, .net, .org, .info, and .mobi.
It also gives a discount on .tv.
Code also gives 10% off of renewing privacy service and hosting.
SSL server certificates, only for people who need user transaction security added to their website:
$13/yr for SSL Server Certificate, no coupon required.
Select a standard "single" certificate, and the price becomes $13/yr in the cart.
Their online interface, free DNS, and telephone technical support are good despite the annoyance of sifting through lots of ads during purchases.
They do this because Godaddy is rumored to lose money on their domain name business because of the customer service overhead and marketing costs, but they make most of their money on add-on services such as hosting and privacy.
Privacy can come in handy for personal blogs and sites that want some anonymity, but search engines may rank commercial (customer-facing) sites lower when their business's addresses are hidden from customers.
If privacy is important, a better deal is at 1and1.com where many domains are $7 for the first year, $9/yr thereafter, and all include optional privacy service for free.
