Both have no built-in fans, so no moving parts, and one less thing susceptible to breaking. It's not hard to find networking gear this cheap (lots of sellers on Ebay are selling 24-port gigabit switches for $25 to $75), but those are often in used condition. This is a great deal for new networking hardware.
