It allows you to install Windows 7 Home Premium on up to three PCs in a household that already have previous versions of Windows. Older versions of Windows do not need to be pre-installed on the system before you can install this, so this will work on fresh systems by following some tips on how to upgrade. Update: On a related note, Microsoft will soon offer an upgrade to Windows 8 Pro for somewhere between $15 and $70 likely sometime in October, depending on when you activated a Windows 7 computer. According some some information, someone who purchased a Windows 7 PC between June 2, 2012 and January 31, 2013 will be eligible for a $15 upgrade. |
