The Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County (METRO) is the region’s largest public transit provider, offering safe, reliable and affordable transportation services about 370,000 times per day. Besides operating more than 1,200 buses on METRO’s network, METRORail's system includes the Red Line (Main Street and Northline), Green Line (East End) and Purple Line (Southeast). METRO Offers Free Rides to the Polls

Exercise your right to vote with free round-trip service to area polling locations from METRO. You can ride at no charge on all METRORail, local buses, and METROLift paratransit services.

Free transportation will be available during:

  • Early Voting, Saturday, Oct. 27, 2018 from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.,
  • Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2018 from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.

To receive free rides, just inform bus operators and/or fare inspectors you are going to, or returning from, the polls.
