Perfect for the Price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love the new receiver. Works exactly as intended for the price I paid! Doesn’t have a ton of bells and whistles but it runs my TV, PS4, Bookshelf speakers, Center channel, Chromecast, and subwoofer with no problem! Love the built in Bluetooth, it allowed me to get rid of quite a few wires!

A lot of power for the money.
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Onkyo is the only brand receiver I’ve ever owned. It matches nicely with Klipsch speakers, the only home speakers I’ll ever own. I also listen to a lot of music so I enjoy the big bass sound from the two 12 inch klipsch subs. This stuff is a little pricey but if you keep your eyes open and don’t forget Best Buy will price match. You usually can’t go wrong with the onkyo or the klipsch brands. It’s the only brands I buy. You can’t tear this stuff up. My friends are so impressed I’ll sell them my old stuff just so I have an excuse to get the newer stuff.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.bought this to replace our 1984 Kenwood receiver that just died, had fun mixing analog with digital and had to find the right way to plug speakers in but mixing the old with new technology sounds awesome

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This unit was installed by the geek squad, every time I turn the receiver and television on the sound will not come on until I turn the receiver off and back on again. My other receiver takes about 10 seconds before the sound comes on but this one the sound doesn’t come on until I turn it off and then back on.

Q: QuestionJust bought. Love it. But my Xbox 1X is not recognizing the HDR10. Setting on TV(Samsung Q7f)to the HDMI is turned on. Xbox is putting out 4k says tv is not capable of HDR. So is this reciever capable of HDR10?
Asked by PhillyB.
- A:Answer I had this issue as well. You have to go into the hdmi settings and change from 4:2:2 (which is the default) to 4:4:4

Q: QuestionI bought a Samsung OLED, HDR, 3D curve television last xmas...I also have an older Bose 5 speaker 1 subwoofer surround sound system. My old Onkyo receiver will not work properly with my new TV...will this Onkyo work? Seems to list everything I need
Asked by Leytelounge.
- A:Answer I just did the same thing. An old analog receiver cannot decode the signals of the new TV's. Your older system will work with the new TV but make sure you are using high speed HDMI cords and route to the one labeled ARC and use the included microphone to set the sound automatically. You will be blown away with those Bose speakers attached. Good luck.

Q: Questionhow do i make my receiver see my record player it runs but i have no sound.
Asked by mudbath.
- A:Answer If by "record player" you mean an unamplified turntable, then you need a turntable pre-amplifier to work with receivers that have no phono input (like this one). The output of the pre-amplifier will supply the signal to one of the line-level inputs on the receiver. If your turntable has a switchable built-in pre-amp, then use it.

Q: QuestionHi. Just bought an ONKYO TX-SR393. Connected to my TV so far, the volume level that start listening is around 40. At 55 is a low regular voume. Is it normal ? My speakers are PolkAudio 4 ohm impedance. Radio is not working I even hear white noise.
Asked by Joe58.
- A:Answer On all the Onkyo receivers I have owned, including this model, you have to turn the sound up into the 40-50 range for normal listening levels, so yes it is normal. Regarding radio have you ruled out bad reception?

Q: QuestionI have 3 HDMI Cables hooked up to my Receiver; 1 from my Direct TV DVR to the Cab/Sat connection, 1 from DVD player to the DVD connection, 1 from the TV to the HDMI out. all works great! But how can I watch TV without the Receiver on? Can't do now?
Asked by Mike.
- A:Answer What you are looking for is a feature called standby pass through in which the receiver can pass hdmi signal when the receiver is off. It is a nice feature for when it’s late at night and you don’t want to disturb the family - the tv can then output the audio.

Q: QuestionI have a pre wired 4 speaker surround sound set up with Sony speakers in my home. What do I need to set up this receiver?. I’m also running my tv with an apple play box.?
Asked by Woodie.
- A:Answer If you are pre wired you don’t need anything but your hdmi cables for you tv and your apple play box the back of the receiver is labeled for your speakers , so everything is plug and go. My room was also ore wired and it took maybe 15 mins to hook everything up.
