Details: | Changhong 50" LED-backlit LCD 1080p HDTV for $400 (repost) Changhong 50-inch LED-backlit LCD 1080p HDTV is back at $400. What we like about this deal is you get a good quality 50" 1080p TV with thin bezel not only at a good price, but will probably hold its value longer than most other TVs. What it does not give you is 3D, 120Hz or a touch-screen remote. Also no wifi or built-in apps. In our opinion though, these are features most people will probably never miss, do little to increase the value of your TV, and are just excuses for manufacturers to sell TVs at higher prices. If you want apps, get a Roku 3. The biggest issue is the standard 60Hz refresh rate which you may only notice when watching sports, but you have to ask yourself if a 50+ inch 120Hz TV is worth spending at least $650. Keep in mind no standard TV or movie source supports 120Hz natively (cable/satellite is 30Hz, Blu-Ray is 60Hz), so 120Hz TVs use a processor to fill in the extra frames, producing video that looks smoother. It looks great, most people are happy with their purchase, and it costs less than what you will find at Costco, Best Buy, and Amazon. There are two ways to buy it, a bundle with 5 free HDMI cables, or the Changhong 50" TV by itself. Some detailed specs are on the manufacturer's website. Newegg has an unboxing video. The stand looks really nice, or mount the 46-pound TV on the wall with a tilt bracket or articulating arm bracket. |
