It took a little over a week to get my headset.

these appear to be the exact same headsets that sell
on ebay for $0.01 + $6.95 S&H.
yes, they're not the best, but they work perfectly. I
use ~2500 cell minutes a month and the only times I
have to replace them is when I lose them or shut the
car door on them(as I did this week). So, unless you
have a wholesale connection to these and can find them
for less than $4, this is a great deal.

I tried following the link to the craigslist article and it
has already been removed from the website. However, there is
another posting which reads:
******************************
ATTENTION!! The posting for a free wireless headset at ww
.freeheadset.org is a SCAM,..SCAM,...SCAM!! It is a fake front
for a company at www.casslin.com that sells the same headsets.
See for yourself. Go to www.freeheadset.org, and then look at
www.casslin.com, and you will see they are really the same
exact company. Our family is part of the local law enforcement
agency. Trust me, there is no such "project funded by people
and organizations that promote safe driving" as they claim!
They obviously just have WAY too many and are trying to dump
them on unsuspecting suckers, and still make their money off
you paying for all the shipping! Don't do it. Don't lose your
money! THIS IS NOT FREE!. You ARE still paying, and the
shipping is more than the headsets are worth! They are cheap
little headsets. I have see many complaints.
******************************
Now, when I tried to check this out at www.casslin.com I found
a gardening tools supplier. It appears to be a bogus front end.
I say this because I tried a Google search for Casslin Gardening
tools and found nothing...
I was wondering where the writer of the above post came up with
www.casslin.com, and I finally found it...there is a Google
cached version of the freeheadsets.org home page, and on the
cached version, the support email address is @casslin.com
(see link to cached copy below)
http://66.102.7.104/search?q=cache:KUYpQQAWkzwJ:www.freeheadset.org/home.php+casslin+headset&hl=en&ie=UTF-8
I'll be real curious to see what comes out of this...
Sincerely,
devoted HotDealsClub reader

I drove by this address last night. Suite #3 is Apartment #3 in the cozy
Poway Palms apartments, 1 and 2 bedroom family apartments. Shades were
drawn (it was dark out), and I didn't feel comfortable knocking on the door
and asking for a free headset. No signs indicating a business there. So,
there is no storefront where someone can come in for a free headset.
Apparently it's like a lot of websites, someone operating out of their home,
with professional-sounding voicemail. Probably a good deal, but their
website is a little misleading.

Apparently the posting about this deal being a scam has been removed by the
list moderators. I'm guessing it was someone suffering from false authority
syndrome.

I am an independent wireless accessories dealer located in New Jersey.
Please know that I purchase the very same handsfree devices that the
subject etailer is sending out for FREE (+ $3.94 shipping) for
approximately .55 to .90 each (bulk purchase). It would cost me about
$1.00 each to ship via U.S. Post to anywhere in the continental US. Based
on those figures I can realize a profit of about $2.00 each. I am hard
pressed to believe that freeheadsets.org has been commissioned to send
their products out to the world out of the civic responsibility they are
feeling. Make no mistake, they are making a PROFIT. I certainly don't
have objections to anyone making money for selling a product that people
want but to disguise their efforts as benevolent is just plain deception.
My two cents.

I received my headset yesterday from FreeHeadset.org. It works great.
It is a real nokia earbud headset. It is identical to the one that came
with my phone. I am very pleased to get it for four dollars. I was
weary of all the feedback from others, but I believe this is a great
deal.

Dear Maniac:
I ordered a headset from this 'organization' and am writing to report about
my experience. A couple of days after ordering, I got a confirmation Email
with an order number, a USPS tracking number and a link to track the order.
About a week later, I got a small manila blister pack in the mail. The
label looked like it had been printed off of a laser printer and somehow
glued to the envelope, but it didn't feel unprofessional. The headset I
received looked like the one that I had ordered and was of acceptable
quality (not great, not a piece of junk). I don't believe that this is a
real 'organization' trying to better the world by distributing headsets, but
if it is a scam, they can't be earning very much on each unit. I probably
won't use this headset, but I don't feel ripped off either.
